New! If you would like to watch the entire, uncut recording of our 9am Worship Service, click here! Otherwise, scroll down as normal.

Please note: This week we had some audio difficulties – some computer speakers may not play the audio loud enough. We recommend using headphones to watch this week. We are sorry for this inconvenience and we hope to have the issue resolved by this Sunday. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Scripture Readings: 1 Chronicles 29:10-13, Romans 8:15-17, John 15:4-11

Old Testament Reading: 1 Chronicles 29:10–13

10Therefore David blessed the Lord in the presence of all the assembly. And David said: “Blessed are you, O Lord, the God of Israel our father, forever and ever. 11Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all. 12Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all. In your hand are power and might, and in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. 13And now we thank you, our God, and praise your glorious name.

L This is the Word of the Lord.
C Thanks be to God.

New Testament Reading: Romans 8:15–17

15For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” 16The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.

L This is the Word of the Lord.
C Thanks be to God.

Holy Gospel Reading: John 15:4-11

P The Holy Gospel according to St. John, the fifteenth chapter.
C Glory to You, O Lord.

[Jesus said] 4″Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. 6If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. 7If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. 9As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. 10If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. 11These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.”

P This is the Gospel of the Lord.
C Praise to You, O Christ.

Prayer of the Day

L We are your branches, O God, our Gardener,
C branches grafted onto Christ, the true vine.
L Remind us of that, O God,
C when CHANGE surrounds us, when INSECURITY unnerves us, when TURBULENCE threatens us.
L Keep us mindful that CHRIST is our true vine–
C ever unchanging, ever secure, ever a source of heaven’s abudance.
L And bless us, as well, with the knowledge that Christ is OUR true vine–
C that we, together, have UNITY in him.
L Unify our minds into one unshakable will–
C your will.
L Then our hearts will be fixed,
C unchanging,
L on the true wellspring of our joy. Through the same Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord. He lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now,
C and forever. Amen.

Sermon Hymn: Be Thou My Vision

Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord
Thou my soul’s shelter, thou my high tow’r,
Raise thou me heav’nward, O Pow’r of my pow’r.

Riches I heed not, nor vain, empty praise
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart
great God of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

Light of my soul, after victory won
May I reach Heaven’s joys, O Heav’n’s Sun
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

Sermon – “God’s Promise: ‘We are heirs – heirs of God, and fellow heirs with Christ.'”

Response to the Message – Prayer of Consecration

P  Dearest God, holy and victorious Trinity,
C  I come to you now to be restored in you, renewed in you, to receive your life and your love
P and all the grace and mercy I so desperately need this day.
C You alone are worthy of all my worship, my heart’s devotion, all my praise, all my trust, and all the glory of my life.
P I love you, I worship you, I give myself over to you in my heart’s search for life.
C You alone are Life, and you have become my life. I renounce all other gods,  every idol [you may need to name specifically those that affect you]
P and I give to you, God, the place in my heart and in my life that you truly deserve.
C I ask your forgiveness for my every sin.
P Search me, know me, and reveal to me where you are working in my life,
C and grant to me the grace of your healing and deliverance and a deep and true repentance.

P Heavenly Father,
C thank you for loving me, choosing me, and in Baptism declaring me to be your beloved child.
P You are my true Father—my creator, redeemer, sustainer, and the true end  of all things,  including my life.
C I love you, I trust you, I worship you. I give myself over to you, Father, to be one with you as Jesus is one with you.
P Thank you for proving your love for me by sending Jesus. I receive him and all his life and all his work which you ordained for me.
C Thank you for including me in your Son, forgiving me my sins through his cross and shed blood, granting me his righteousness, making me complete in him.
P Thank you for making me alive with Christ, raising me with him, seating me with him at your right hand,
C and anointing me with your love and your Spirit.

P Jesus, thank you for coming to ransom me with your own life.
C  I love you, worship you, trust you. I receive you as my Life,
P  and I receive all the work and triumph in your resurrection, through which you have conquered sin.
C Death has no power over you, nor does any foul thing. And I have been raised with you to a new life, to live your life—dead to sin and alive to God.
P I take my place now in your resurrection and in your life, and I give my life to you to live your life.
C I receive your hope, love, faith, joy, your goodness, trueness, wisdom, power, and strength. I receive it with thanks, and I give it total claim to my  spirit, soul, and body, my heart, mind, and will.

P Holy Spirit, thank you for coming.
C I love you, I worship you, I trust you.
P You triumphed on Pentecost and were given to me at my Baptism.
C You have clothed me with power from on high, sealed me in Christ, become the Spirit of truth in me, the life of God in me,
P my counselor, comforter, strength, and guide.
C I honor you as Lord, and I fully give to you every aspect and dimension of  my spirit, soul, and body, my heart, mind, and will
P —to walk in step with you in all things.
C  Fill me afresh, Holy Spirit. Lead me into all truth, anoint me for all of my life and walk and calling, and lead me deeper into Jesus today. I receive you with thanks, and I give you total claim to my life.

P Heavenly Father, thank you for granting to me every spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus.
C I claim the riches in Christ Jesus over my life today. I give it total claim to my life, receiving it all with thanks, asking that I be led to do your will, through Jesus. Amen.

I’m forgiven because You were forsaken
I’m accepted, You were condemned
I’m alive and well, Your Spirit is within me
Because You died and rose again

Amazing love how can it be
That You my King would die for me
Amazing love I know it’s true
It’s my joy to honor You
In all I do I honor You

(Repeat Verse and Chorus)

You are my King
You are my King
Jesus You are my King
You are my King

Amazing love how can it be
That You my King would die for me
Amazing love I know it’s true
It’s my joy to honor You (Repeat)

In all I do I honor You
